General Leonard Wood's Boyhood Home:
We at The House At Pocasset are very proud of the significant role
our property played during Major General Leonard Wood's boyhood. As a way of showing our deepest
gratitude toward our military past and present, we present to any active or honorably discharged military
personal a 5% discount.
We always take great pleasure discussing the many accomplishments that filled Leonard Wood's life. In our posession is
a portion of what was Leonard Wood's personal library, a fine collection of a wide variety of reading material,
much of which is inscribed. Scholars and any interested are invited to enjoy the historical
reading materials, ranging from many military related subjects to a French edition of Cyrano DeBergerac - dated 1903,
Theodore Roosevelt's Fear God And Take Your Own Part, inscribed to Mrs. Wood - copyright 1916.
This home truly is history right before your very eyes.
